[2023.11.20] The Journey of Game Development: Challenges and Triumphs
When one creates a game, the desire is for it to be played and enjoyed, and receiving constructive feedback from those who have played it is crucial. In the beginning, one starts with programming small games and lets friends or acquaintances play them. It's gratifying when they have fun playing and express amazement at the process of game development. Pride naturally arises from the accomplishment.
As projects grow larger and more complex, the focus expands beyond programming to include game design and graphics. The field is so extensive that, in my opinion, comprehending and mastering it entirely seems impossible.
Nevertheless, the journey continues, with each task bringing new lessons. Eventually, the game becomes playable. Now, the challenge is to consider how to introduce the game to a wider audience beyond friends and family. Online communities and platforms become valuable resources. Creating a demo version becomes a key step, hoping to gather feedback. While it can be disheartening if the demo doesn't attract as much attention as anticipated, the determination persists. 😊 Currently, I'm in the process of modeling the boss for Level 3. The bosses for Levels 1 and 2 are already complete. In the demo, players can attempt to battle their way to the first boss.
I'm also contemplating whether to release a version where players solely face off against bosses. Perhaps this could enhance the game's marketability. Who knows? I'll keep you informed about the ongoing progress.
